WCKI receives charity status in the UK! (1208446)

After getting Royal approval (when Founder Adrian collected his MBE from Buckingham Palace in 2022), we’ve been working on a plan to bring WCKI to the UK. There have been months of conversations and A LOT of paperwork, but we’re delighted to finally announce that we now have UK Charitable Status!

This means we’ll be able to expand our mission (of using football to help children affected by cancer) to even more communities.
WCKI UK will be overseen by a board of Trustees – Richard Moore, Sally Wagon, Madeleine Duxbury, Paul O'Callaghan and Paul McMahon – who will bring their varied experience and support for the charity to help grow WCKI on UK shores.

The next 6 months will be focused on developing relationships with UK charities and football contacts whilst working to raise vital funds and awareness ahead of our first event in March 2025.
As Adrian explains: “Football has the power to uplift you at the darkest times and seeing the joy and confidence our programme has brought to kids in the US has been amazing. Receiving UK Charitable status means we will be able to support more children and families who have been impacted by cancer”
